Former Chelsea star Joe Cole has pointed out what he sees as a big edge Paris Saint-Germain have over Arsenal in their upcoming Champions League semi-final clash.

Both teams secured their spots in the last four after PSG saw off Aston Villa and Arsenal pulled off a huge win against Real Madrid.

Speaking to TNT Sports, Cole praised Arsenal’s performance and the progress under Mikel Arteta, saying the club is in a great place despite falling out of the Premier League title race.

He noted that Arsenal have already faced PSG earlier in the competition, which helps reduce the element of surprise. However, he believes the real game-changer is that the second leg will be played in Paris.

With the away goals rule no longer in play, Cole thinks hosting the second leg gives PSG a significant advantage.

Still, he gave Arsenal full credit for their display at the Bernabeu, calling it a brilliant achievement.

The first leg will be held at the Emirates later this month, with the return match scheduled for May in Paris.

Victor Boniface has opened up about turning down a move to the English Premier League, despite receiving attractive offers in the past. The Nigerian striker, who currently stars for Bayer Leverkusen in Germany, said he’s not a fan of the Premier League and prefers to avoid clubs that come with too much pressure.

Speaking on The Culture League podcast, the 24-year-old explained that he always considers the style of play and environment before agreeing to any move. “It’s not that I wouldn’t go to the Premier League if the chance came,” he said. “But for me, it has to be the right team. I look at the way they play, how they operate, and how much pressure comes with being there.”

He revealed that after a strong season in Belgium, he received big-money offers from England but turned them down because the fit didn’t feel right. “Some players don’t perform well under intense pressure,” Boniface said. “So I chose a team where I felt I could truly grow and enjoy football.”
