Kogi Farmers Get Federal Aid for Drought
Farmers in Kogi affected by drought will receive federal aid to support their activities. The state’s Agriculture Commissioner, Timothy Ojomah, announced that the list of affected farmers has been sent to Abuja, with assistance expected soon.
Ojomah urged farmers to replant in anticipation of upcoming rains and emphasized efforts to boost food production through improved irrigation. Recent assessments of local facilities, including the Enome Dam, aim to enhance year-round farming by reducing reliance on rainfall. The state has also resorted to prayers for additional rainfall.
