Nigerian singer Magixx has voiced his concerns about the rising influence of streaming farms, claiming they’re one of the main reasons new talents struggle to shine in today’s music scene.

According to him, most of the top positions on streaming charts, especially platforms like Apple Music, are no longer earned organically. He believes they’re being “bought,” which leaves little room for fresh artists to break through.

Sharing his thoughts on X, he wrote, “Just so y’all know, the reason why we don’t have enough breakout artists these days is because almost every spot on Apple Music is bought!”

The topic of streaming manipulation has been a hot one in the industry for a while now. Accusations of artists using bots or artificial systems to boost song streams have surfaced repeatedly, even though many insiders still deny that streaming farms exist.
