Namibia Seeks Collaboration with Nigeria’s Anti-Corruption Agencies

The Namibian government has reached out to Nigeria’s Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for support in its ongoing battle against corruption.

Namibia, acknowledging Nigeria’s leadership in anti-corruption efforts in Africa, aims to benefit from the expertise of these agencies, particularly in asset recovery.

During a visit to the ICPC headquarters in Abuja, Namibian Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Humphrey Geise, emphasized the need for collaboration, highlighting that Namibia’s Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) seeks to learn from Nigeria’s successful anti-corruption strategies.

The ICPC Chairman, Dr. Musa Aliyu, expressed readiness to share knowledge and continue cross-border efforts to combat corruption across Africa, noting the importance of cooperation in tackling corrupt networks on the continent.
