Ronaldo Says Ballon d’Or Means Nothing to Him and Refuses to Pick 2025 Winner
Cristiano Ronaldo has made it clear he’s not interested in the Ballon d’Or 2025 discussion, bluntly calling the award “fictional” before walking away from a reporter’s question.
Speaking after scoring a hat-trick in Al-Nassr’s pre-season clash with Rio Ave, the Portuguese star, who has lifted the Ballon d’Or five times, refused to name a favourite for this year’s prize. He said the award holds no real value to him anymore.
Interestingly, back in June, Ronaldo suggested the trophy should go to a player who has won the Champions League, mentioning names like Lamine Yamal, Kylian Mbappé, Vitinha, and Ousmane Dembélé as worthy contenders.
