During a recent event at the Government House in Port Harcourt, Lady Valerie Siminalayi Fubara, the Rivers State Governor’s wife and RHI’s state coordinator, presented cheques of ₦50,000 each to the beneficiaries.

This initiative, known as the Economic Empowerment Programme Recapitalisation Grants, aims to enhance the livelihoods of petty traders and drive economic growth in the region, with a total of ₦1.850 billion allocated to support 37,000 women nationwide.

Lady Fubara emphasized the importance of empowering women economically, noting that their success contributes to family and community prosperity. She highlighted that the program prioritizes beneficiaries from rural areas and includes monitoring to prevent exploitation. “No, I don’t think many people will blame the Tinubu administration for what is happening now because President Donald Trump, when he first made the threats, it was clearly not in coordination with the Tinubu administration or the government of Nigeria,” Jega said.
