Take It Back Movement Requests Virtual Meeting with Police
The Take It Back Movement has requested a virtual meeting with the Lagos State Police Command due to logistical challenges in attending an in-person meeting. They expressed concerns about possible arrests during a physical meeting.
Police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the invitation and assured it would be a friendly discussion without intentions to arrest anyone. The movement’s letter explained that many key members are currently out of Lagos, making in-person attendance impractical. They proposed a virtual meeting instead but offered to reschedule for early October if necessary. The upcoming protest on October 1, 2024, will address economic issues like inflation and fuel scarcity.
