Big Brother Naija’s popular star, Josephine Otabor, better known as Phyna, has voiced her stance on the rising debate about DNA tests, a topic that’s got Nigerians talking.

The country has seen more instances of paternity fraud, sparking discussions about whether DNA tests should be necessary, especially to avoid cases where people end up discovering much later that they aren’t the biological parents.

This issue recently gained momentum when Don Jazzy, a major figure in the Nigerian music industry, spoke out about prioritizing DNA tests.

Known for producing some of Nigeria’s biggest hits, Don Jazzy suggested that DNA tests should come before traditional naming ceremonies to confirm paternity right from the start.

Adding her voice to the conversation, Phyna took to her social media page on X, formerly known as Twitter, expressing full support for Don Jazzy’s view.

She believes that DNA tests should not be an optional choice but a mandatory step after every childbirth.

According to Phyna, implementing such a law would bring clarity early on, reducing the likelihood of paternity disputes or emotional pain down the road.

In her post, she wrote, I support DNA tests over naming ceremonies. It should be mandatory and carried out immediately after birth.
