Abia State Governor Alex Otti has approved a new monthly stipend of N250,000 for the traditional rulers in the state.

This announcement was made by Eze Linus Nto Mba, Chairman of the Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers, in a heartfelt message of appreciation to the governor.

Eze Mba, speaking on behalf of the council’s principal officers and members, revealed that the payment of this monthly stipend will commence in December 2024.

He further clarified that this initiative is separate from the N150,000 Christmas package recently approved by Governor Otti for over 500 traditional rulers across Abia State.

Eze Mba also noted that while all traditional rulers in Abia will benefit from the N250,000 monthly allowance, those in Aba South will receive a different amount.

Nigerian news analyst, Mahmud Jega, has shared his opinion on the recent airstrike carried out by the United States in Nigeria, stating that Nigerians should not blame President Bola Tinubu for the incident.

Jega made this statement during a recent interview, where he said he does not believe many people will hold the Tinubu administration responsible, as Donald Trump had issued threats against Nigeria long before Tinubu’s administration.

“No, I don’t think many people will blame the Tinubu administration for what is happening now because President Donald Trump, when he first made the threats, it was clearly not in coordination with the Tinubu administration or the government of Nigeria,” Jega said.
