Governor Otti Approves N250,000 Monthly Stipend for Abia Traditional Rulers
Abia State Governor Alex Otti has approved a new monthly stipend of N250,000 for the traditional rulers in the state.
This announcement was made by Eze Linus Nto Mba, Chairman of the Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers, in a heartfelt message of appreciation to the governor.
Eze Mba, speaking on behalf of the council’s principal officers and members, revealed that the payment of this monthly stipend will commence in December 2024.
He further clarified that this initiative is separate from the N150,000 Christmas package recently approved by Governor Otti for over 500 traditional rulers across Abia State.
Eze Mba also noted that while all traditional rulers in Abia will benefit from the N250,000 monthly allowance, those in Aba South will receive a different amount.
He praised Governor Otti for the unprecedented respect and support shown to the traditional institution, contrasting it with past administrations that, according to him, failed to accord monarchs similar recognition.
