I’m No Longer a Christian I Follow Where Fornication Isn’t a Sin – Falz Says
Rapper and singer Folarin Falana, better known as Falz, has stood by his view that fornication isn’t a sin in the religion he follows. He recently stirred up controversy online after sharing on X that he doesn’t believe premarital sex is wrong. His post drew heavy criticism from both Christians and Muslims, many of whom cited religious texts to dispute his opinion.
Speaking in an interview with Arise TV, Falz addressed the backlash, making it clear that he wasn’t speaking from a Christian or Islamic perspective. According to him, he now follows what he calls the “religion of love.” He explained that he no longer identifies as a Christian and that within his belief system, consensual sex between two unmarried adults isn’t seen as sinful.
“I wasn’t talking from a Christian point of view,” he said. “I follow the religion of love, and in that, I don’t see fornication as a sin. I questioned it — who exactly is it offending? These are two adults, not married, engaging in something consensual. I don’t see a problem.” Falz reaffirmed that his beliefs have shifted and that he no longer practices Christianity.
Nigerian actress Yvonne Jegede is making headlines following her comments on marriage.
In a recent interview with The Punch, she described marriage as overrated and shared her perspective on how it often does not favour women.
She explained that women tend to carry more responsibilities and are sometimes expected to hold the marriage together.
“I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, marriage is overrated. For people who have found happiness in marriage, I’m genuinely happy for them. But from my perspective and within my environment, marriage doesn’t always favour women.”
Nigerian reality TV star Phyna is facing backlash following her decision to undergo BBL surgery.
It can be noted that the reality star had earlier revealed plans for the procedure. This comes months after she lost her sister in a tragic accident.
Many critics have questioned her decision, suggesting she has not taken enough time to grieve. However, others have pointed out that people process grief differently.
Phyna responded to the backlash, saying “Nigerians are hypocrites. A lot of miserable people are dragging me for doing BBL a few months after my sister’s death. I have already grieved my sister and she will always remain in my heart.”
Nigerian content creator Zics Aloma has stirred reactions online after sharing an experience with a former friend.
He revealed that a friend he had not spoken to in two years reached out to him asking for financial help to settle rent. Zics responded that he could not provide such a large amount.
According to him, the former friend then insulted him, which left him surprised.
He said “You have not spoken to me for the past two years and you’re suddenly billing me. My last birthday I only got one gift from my assistant, whereas I give my friends cake, perfume, and wigs for their birthdays. This year, energy for energy.”
