Labour Party Calls Kenneth Okonkwo a Mole And Denounces His Criticism
The Labour Party (LP) has labeled Kenneth Okonkwo a “mole” and expressed that his departure from the party was anticipated.
The LP criticized Okonkwo’s recent comments targeting Peter Obi, the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, as unfortunate and driven by a desire for attention.
Okonkwo, who was a prominent figure in the LP, publicly stated that he had lost confidence in Obi’s ability to lead the party to electoral success.
He argued that Obi has demonstrated an inability to secure the mandate even if the public votes for him.
Okonkwo’s decision to leave the party, he said, was influenced by recent events within the party and marked a new direction for his political career.
In response, Obiora Ifoh, the National Publicity Secretary of the LP, issued a statement addressing Okonkwo’s resignation.
Ifoh noted that Okonkwo’s exit was expected and dismissed his criticisms of Obi as attention-seeking.
The LP spokesperson remarked, “Kenneth Okonkwo’s resignation did not come as a surprise to us. His attacks on Peter Obi are regrettable and appear to be an attempt to draw attention.”
Ifoh emphasized that despite Okonkwo’s departure, the Labour Party remains steadfast in its support for Obi and is committed to backing him as the party’s candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
